Sara Trumet is a self-taught artist that has incorporated a variety of mediums in her work over the past 20 years. She finds inspiration from galleries, people, apparel, street art, local events, color, art shows, publications, and other artists’ work. Sara uses vibrant colors that reflect and process her mood and emotions. All her paintings are abstract expressions of the events in her life.
Sara has had several of her paintings displayed in the State Capitol, in Senator Jose Rodriguez’s office. Sara has participated in numerous local art shows, including The Cherrywood Art Fair, RAW, Art Saved Us, Summer Show ATX, Conception Art Shows, Chocolate and Art, Tillery! Live, various pop-up events, the West Austin Studio Tour and the Austin Studio Tour. She has also been commissioned for private sales, including a piece for a local apartment clubhouse, and a piece for the penthouse floor of The Catherine luxury condos in downtown Austin. She has been featured in Voyage Magazine and Canvas Rebel Magazine, and she had her first solo opening at Dig Art Gallery in 2020.
Sara is also an educator. She is currently a GT Specialist where she integrates her love of science, technology, engineering, art, games, and puzzles. Sara lives in south Austin with her super-fun 10-year-old son and her cats Juniper and Rizza.
